THE QUIET RIVER OF DUST
-
The Quiet River of Dust features a collection of songs uniting elements of Richard's previous work with the folk music aesthetics of his childhood, and elements perhaps overlooked in his career so far - exploring gentle, quiet and hypnotic corners of the world of sound. It includes the dense instrumental and orchestral textures of Arcade Fire and Bell Orchestre, as well as the boundary-pushing intimate instrumental work of his neoclassical compositions Music for Heart and Breath.
Richard has worked with the SATosphere team to perform these brand new songs in a sonically and visually immersive dome environment. The experience surrounds and absorb the audience into the breathtaking musical universe of The Quiet River of Dust.
The Quiet River of Dust Vol. 3 is forthcoming. -

“An earthy, elaborate sound that harks back to the golden age of mid-200s blog-prog: the ornate art-folk of Sufjan Stevens, the high-beam harmonies of Dirty Projectors, the ritualistic abandon of Animal Collective.” – Pitchfork
“Richard Reed Parry sought to commune with the spirits rather that put his nose to the grindstone. The result is an immersive work, one that ushers you into a world of Parry’s ownZen imagining — a suite of albums ten years in the making.” – TIDAL
“Quiet River’s sound has a sublime power unlike any other release you’ve heard this year.” –Collide
“It's music crying out for careful attention. Songs ebb and flow, and then ebb some more, teasing beauty from Parry's quietly rich, complex compositions... It makes for ravishing music.” – Under the Radar
“A wildly inventive seven-song set that marries the bucolic Albion folk-rock of Incredible
String Band with swirling, worldbeat-infused psych-pop inspired by Japanese folk mythology.” – All Music
“A lush and verdant composition filled with buzzing cicadas, plucky guitar, and his airy voice flowing like a breeze through the treetops." – The Fader
