Title: Special Projects Assistant


Company: Envision Management & Production is an artist management and production company that works with boundary-breaking, musical and multi-disciplinary artists, projects and organizations. www.envisionmanagement.com.


Purpose: Envision Management & Production is seeking a responsible, motivated and enterprising person to assist in writing proposals for Envision’s clients and Envision Management and assist in submitting timely and accurate reports to both funding bodies and clients.


Position type: One-year contract with possibility for renewal, 3 days/week, salaried position


Salary: $18/hour


Location: Montreal (Rosemont/Petite-Patrie)


Reports to: Artist and Special Projects Manager


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in conducting the full range of activities required : preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals to funding bodies, foundations and possible corporate sources
  • Perform research on funding bodies, foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for future grants
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by funding bodies
  • Assist in developing and providing regular written quarterly reports/online reports (newsletters etc.) to all clients
  • Understanding of institutional history and programs of all funding bodies
  • Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting
  • Track and document statistics relevant to funding development, sort so as to provide Envision and client base with appropriate written materials
  • Work with Artist and Special Projects Manager to provide development input for all written institutional materials (including annual report, operations funding opportunities)
  • Assist with any new fundraising projects



  • Expected to be passionate about music - ideally a variety of different styles and genres - and actively engaged in the local music scene
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking, time management and problem solving
  • Proven track record, experience with grant writing and project management, artist management
  • Knowledge of basic funding body landscape for musicians in Canada and Quebec
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Canadian and Quebec music industries
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English and French
  • Ability to work autonomously but also thrive in a collaborative work environment (generally have a positive outlook and like people)
  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs, Mac, Basecamp, Slack, G-Drive, Dropbox
